Introduction
At 101 South 2nd Street in McAlester, something beautiful is happening. It is called Compassion 365, and its purpose is simple: to make sure no one in our community feels alone or forgotten.
Every day, volunteers, neighbors, and local partners come together to meet real needs with love, service, and faith. Whether someone needs a warm meal, a medical checkup, or a friendly face, Compassion 365 opens its doors with kindness.
Why Compassion 365 Began
The idea started right here in McAlester when local residents noticed how many families were struggling.
Some were hungry and unsure where their next meal would come from.
Others were skipping medical care because of the cost.
Many were trying to get by without the resources most of us take for granted.
Seeing that pain inspired action. The founders realized that McAlester did not just need another program. It needed a one stop place where food, health care, and hope could all come together.
That is how Compassion 365 was born, out of love for this community and faith that small acts of service can change lives.
The Food Market: Dignity Through Choice
When families come to the Compassion 365 Food Market, they find something familiar because it looks just like a grocery store. Shelves are lined with canned food, pasta, cereal, and pantry items.
The difference is that everything is free.
There are no forms to fill out, no income limits, and no judgment. People simply walk in, choose what they need, and take it home.
The market is powered by donations from churches, schools, and kind-hearted neighbors. Volunteers sort, stock, and greet visitors with smiles. Every bag of food given out is also a reminder: you matter, and you are not forgotten.

The Compassion Clinic: Healing with Heart
Right next door, the Compassion Clinic provides free health care to anyone who needs it.
When: Every Tuesday evening from 5:30 to 8:30
Where: 101 South 2nd Street, McAlester
Who: Volunteer doctors, nurses, and helpers
The clinic offers:
Primary care and checkups
Dental services
Mental health counseling
Prescriptions and medication support
Prayer and encouragement
Everything is free. No insurance is required. For many, it is their first visit to a doctor in years.
The clinic runs because of volunteers who give their time and local partners who donate supplies and medicine. Every visit is proof that compassion can heal both body and spirit.

Loaves of Love: Food That Feeds the Soul
When the doors open for Loaves of Love, the smell of warm soup fills the air. Tables are set, and volunteers serve plates of food to anyone who walks in.
Tuesday evenings: 6:00 to 7:30 PM
Saturday and Sunday: 1:00 to 2:00 PM
These meals are free, open to all, and served with care. For many, it is the only hot meal they will have that day. But what makes it truly special is the friendship and laughter shared around the tables.
