Hungry Lotus, known for its creative Vietnamese-inspired street food and community presence, joins the Chamber as part of a growing wave of small businesses strengthening McAlester’s local flavor and identity.

American Li-ion’s arrival is particularly exciting for McAlester’s economic landscape. The company is expected to play a big role in local industry growth and job creation, marking a promising development for the city’s industrial park.

Local franchises are also helping shape McAlester’s community culture. Word around town is that the manager at Jersey Mike’s has been making a great impression, a reminder that leadership grounded in kindness and service can make all the difference in how a business connects with its neighbors.

In an inspiring announcement, the McAlester Chamber will be one of only five chambers in Oklahoma participating in the National Civics Bee, a nationwide competition designed to inspire civic engagement among students in grades 6–8.

Hosted by the U.S. Chamber Foundation, the Civics Bee challenges young people to showcase their knowledge of government, history, and citizenship while building pride in their communities. The event represents McAlester’s growing commitment to education, leadership, and youth development.
