Community Culture Church is getting ready for a prom like no other, a party made for joy, courage, and God’s love. It’s called Night to Shine, and it’s coming to the McAlester campus on Friday, February 13, 2026, at 225 E. Carl Albert Parkway. The doors will open. The music will rise. A bright red carpet will stretch across the floor. Fifty Honored Guests, people with special needs ages 14 and up, will step into the spotlight, each one treated like royalty.

Night to Shine started in 2015 with help from the Tim Tebow Foundation. Since then, it has grown and grown. Today there are more than 800 host churches in all 50 states and in 63 countries. More than 500,000 Honored Guests have danced, laughed, and been crowned King or Queen. The heart is simple: value, honor, and support each guest and their family. It happens on the same night all around the world. Think of that, thousands of crowns and thousands of smiles, all at once.

This will be the seventh year Community Culture Church has partnered with Night to Shine. It is the first year our McAlester campus will host its own prom. Folks here are excited to welcome fifty Honored Guests and their families. There is a lot to do to make a night like this smooth. The church is ready.

Volunteers make the magic. Some sign up to be Buddies and stay with a guest all evening. Some join the Activities team to keep the games going. Others help with hair and makeup so each guest feels extra special. There is a Medical team and a Safety team, watching with care. The Paparazzi, open to all ages, cheer and clap as guests arrive on the red carpet. Food services keep the snacks and punch flowing. Decor turns the room into a sparkling ballroom. It is a small army of kindness.

Businesses can help too. The church is looking for photographers and videographers to capture the big grins. Florists can add color and scent. Caterers can fill plates. Even limousine drivers can make arrivals shine. Sponsors can cover items that bless guests and families, like crowns, corsages, or a simple keepsake to take home.

Event Coordinator Taylar Burke says it best: “Night to Shine is an event you don’t want to miss. It is a night where we focus on celebrating our honored guests, but I always leave feeling like I have been blessed the most.” That is the secret of this evening. You come to give, and somehow you leave with more.

Coordinator Kristin Wheaton sees the deeper need it meets. “Night to Shine highlights a need that most people are unaware even exists,” she says. “A lot of time and work goes into creating the best possible night so the Honored Guest feels celebrated, included, and loved, but it is worth every second.” In a world that often rushes past, this night says, “We see you.” It says, “You belong.”

If you want to help, there is a place for you. Volunteers must be 16 or older, except Paparazzi, which is open to all ages. Honored Guests must be 14 or older. Registration for volunteers and guests is open now:

This night is about light finding every face. It is about making room at the table and room on the floor. It is about saying, with our voices and our actions, you belong. On February 13, we will celebrate that truth with music, crowns, and kind hands. Then we will carry it into the days that follow. We will look for ways to honor each other again and again. And our town will feel warmer, like a porch light left on for a friend.
