Lacey Sudderth is the Assistant Manager of the McAlester Public Library and a dedicated community leader committed to fostering literacy, creativity, and civic engagement in Southeast Oklahoma. She serves as President of both the McAlester Area Arts and Humanities Council and the McAlester Community Tree Board, where she advocates for accessible arts programming and environmental stewardship. Lacey is also an active member of the Keep McAlester Beautiful board and contributes to local sustainability efforts through her work with the McAlester Community Garden. In addition to her community leadership, Lacey is involved in cultural programming as a member of the Juneteenth Jubilee Committee, helping to celebrate and preserve local history and heritage. Her professional background includes experience in journalism and publishing, having previously worked as a Staff Writer for the McAlester News-Capital and as current Managing Editor of the SEOLS’s Beyond Words Magazine. Through her work across libraries, nonprofits, and the arts, Lacey is passionate about creating inclusive spaces where stories, ideas, and communities can thrive.
